This Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to deserving students pursuing an academic degree in Nursing.

Joyce Smith was born in 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the 4th of 7 children. Joyce enjoyed traveling and lived in Texas before eventually calling Arizona her “home.”

Joyce had a great love for God, fishing, southwest artwork, and nursing. She loved helping others and was the inspiration for her niece, Donna, who also became a nurse.

Three archive photographs: a school portrait, a group photograph with a woman in a nurse’s uniform, and a later portrait in scrubs.
